Where will the money go?
Proceeds from this year’s Bike & Beach will benefit Inland’s Emergency Department expansion and modernization.

Inland has announced plans to expand and renovate its emergency department so it can offer patients more private and timely treatment.

The project will offer patients the privacy and timely treatment they deserve. It will involve expanding from five to eight exam/treatment rooms and making them all private. Currently, existing exam rooms are shared space with a curtain drawn for privacy as needed. The current emergency department is 2500 square feet with an estimated additional 2300 square feet planned. The space was designed for 10,000-12,000 patient visits annually but Inland's ER is saw around 15,000 patients last year.

The expansion will also redesign and enhance the workspace for medical staff which will allow them to be more effective and efficient in their triage and treatment, as well as help to improve wait time for patients.

Construction for this $2.4 million expansion and modernization started in November 2006 with completion targeted for the summer of 2007.
